01What Shri is
1.1 Shri gives general guidance only. It is not professional tax, legal or financial advice.
1.2 Shri is TaxCare's assistant on the Help page. Many common questions are answered from answers written by TaxCare. Others are answered by an AI model from OpenAI, using TaxCare's own product information and tax rules.
02What Shri can and cannot do
- Shri can be wrong, out of date, or misunderstand your question. AI models sometimes state wrong things confidently.
- Shri does not see your returns, your tax statements or your account data. It knows only what you type.
- Shri does not file, submit, pay or change anything. It may show up to two buttons that open a TaxCare screen.
- Shri does not know your full situation. A rule that fits most people may not fit you.
- Before you act, check the figures on your return screen, the official Income Tax Department sources, or ask a Tax Expert.
- TaxCare is not responsible for a decision you make only on the basis of a Shri answer. If a Shri answer contradicts the return TaxCare prepares, the return screen is what you approve and file.
03Your privacy when you use Shri
- Don't type your PAN, Aadhaar number, phone number, email or passwords.
- If you do, TaxCare replaces them with placeholders (for example "[PAN]") before the question leaves TaxCare.
- What is sent to OpenAI: your question and a few recent turns of the chat, masked as above. Never your name, PAN, or any detail from your TaxCare account. When you ask about a family member, only the words "a family member" are added.
- OpenAI processes this outside India (USA). OpenAI may keep the masked text for a limited time under its own API terms.
- TaxCare does not store your Shri conversation on its servers. It stays on your device for 120 days and is cleared when you sign out or delete your account.
- Questions answered from TaxCare's ready answers are not sent to OpenAI at all.
04Fair use
A fair-use limit on AI-answered questions applies, so the service stays available for everyone. Ready answers do not count against it. Shri shows how many questions you have left.
05Questions or problems
