Terms of Use

01Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of TaxCare's website, mobile app and services, operated by Overseas Apps Private Limited. By creating an account or using TaxCare you agree to them, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.

If you do not agree, please do not use TaxCare. We may update these Terms as described under "Changes to These Terms".

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law to hold a TaxCare account, and you must be a person whose tax affairs you are entitled to manage. You may add a family member's PAN only where you are lawfully entitled to file for them.

03Your Account

When you create and use a TaxCare account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current and complete information, including your mobile number and PAN details.
  • Keep your OTPs and devices safe, and never share an OTP with anyone — including someone claiming to be from TaxCare, who will never ask for it.
  • Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised access, and sign out devices you no longer use from Profile → Security.

04Description of Service

TaxCare helps you prepare and e-file your Income Tax Return, view your tax statements, estimate and pay tax, track refunds, and engage a Tax Expert. TaxCare is a technology platform. It is not the Income Tax Department, and its calculator, insights and Shri assistant give general information, not professional tax or legal advice. Features and forms supported may vary by tax year.

05Your Authorisation to File

By registering a PAN you authorise TaxCare to access your Income Tax portal account on your behalf — to fetch your statements and, when you approve it, to file, verify and track your return. You confirm that the PAN is yours or that you are lawfully entitled to act for its holder. TaxCare uses that access only for these purposes and never files anything without your approval. You can disconnect a PAN at any time.

06Tax Expert Services

When you book a Tax Expert:

  • You accept the engagement terms shown for that service before you pay; a record of your acceptance is kept on the order.
  • TaxCare assigns a Tax Expert from its own verified panel. The expert works on your matter through the order, and their advice is theirs — TaxCare provides the platform and the panel.
  • You give accurate information and complete documents; timelines start once your documents are complete.
  • The expert may request an additional fee, with a reason, which you are free to accept or decline.
  • Nothing is filed, submitted or sent for you until you give your approval on the order.

07Fees & Payment

Self-filing fees depend on your income and are shown before you pay; your first return filed yourself with TaxCare gets 25% off, once per account. Tax Expert services carry their own prices. Payments are processed through our payment partner's secure checkout, and TaxCare never stores your card or bank details. Every payment receives a numbered invoice. Refunds are governed by the Refund & Cancellation Policy. Tax you pay to the Government through our payment link is paid to the Government, not to TaxCare.

08Filing Accuracy & Your Responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of what you give us, and for reviewing your return before you approve it. In particular:

  • TaxCare prepares your return from statements and information you provide or connect. We check it against the Income Tax Department's validation rules, but we do not verify it against your own financial records.
  • Review every figure before approving. Once filed, a return cannot be recalled — only revised or updated as the law permits.
  • TaxCare is not liable for penalty, interest, notice or loss arising from inaccurate, incomplete or outdated information you supplied.
  • The Income Tax Department's portal and systems are outside TaxCare's control, and we are not responsible for delays, outages or processing decisions on their side.

09Intellectual Property

TaxCare's app, website, branding and software belong to Overseas Apps Private Limited and are protected by law. You may use them for your own tax affairs, and you may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, scrape or redistribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

10Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use TaxCare for any unlawful purpose, or to file a return for someone without their authorisation.
  • Attempt to access another person's account, the Income Tax portal accounts of others, or our systems without permission.
  • Upload malicious code, or interfere with the normal operation of the platform.
  • Misrepresent your identity, or provide false or forged documents or information.
  • Abuse referral, coupon or offer schemes, for example with fake or duplicate accounts.

11Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or end your account if you breach these Terms, act fraudulently, or if the law requires — we will try to tell you first, unless we must act at once to prevent harm. You may close your account any time from Profile, subject to the retention periods in our Privacy Policy.

12Disclaimers

TaxCare is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it accurate and available, but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any tax outcome — a refund amount or its timing — will match your expectations, because these depend on the Income Tax Department's own processing.

13Limitation of Liability

To the extent Indian law permits, TaxCare and Overseas Apps Private Limited are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability for a claim about a paid service is limited to the amount you paid TaxCare for that service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Please raise any dispute first with our Grievance Officer (below). If it is not resolved, it is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, where Overseas Apps Private Limited has its registered office. This does not take away any right you have by law to approach the Consumer Commission where you live or work, or to complain to the Data Protection Board of India about a matter under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

15Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as our services or the law change. Material changes are shown in the app before they take effect; the version and effective date in the Document panel always show the current terms.
